At the centre of the room an enormous pump plunges endlessly up and down with a repetitive thump and bang as it ascends and descends. Somewhere in the hidden recesses of the tower you can sense a million cogs and wheels turning as the pump pushes and pulls.

 

As you watch, as if in response to your presence, a section of the floor around the pump begins to scrape and groan down into the ground, creating a spiral stone staircase leading endlessly downwards. 

 

Flaming torches flicker into life in the walls surrounding the staircase creating an ominous dancing light and twisting, chasing shadows. Together, you tiptoe down the thousand steps into the deeper land of dreams; both anxious and excited about what might be awaiting you below...
